IPL 2025 Travel Distances: RCB to Cover 17,000 km – Here’s How Far Other Teams Will Travel

As the Indian Premier League (IPL) gears up for another exciting season, teams are preparing for a hectic travel schedule. With each team playing 14 matches—seven at home and seven away—players will be covering a massive distance as they crisscross the country.

The issue of exhausting travel schedules came into the spotlight during the Champions Trophy, which was held in a hybrid format. Teams like New Zealand and South Africa faced tight itineraries, frequently flying between Pakistan and Dubai. For players like David Miller, the constant travel became a challenge.

Recalling South Africa’s Champions Trophy campaign, Miller shared his experience, saying that although the flight between Pakistan and Dubai was just an hour and 40 minutes, it was still draining. He pointed out that traveling right after a match, especially early in the morning, made it even tougher. “It’s not ideal,” he said. “Playing a game and then immediately catching a flight makes it quite difficult.”

IPL 2025: Teams to Cover Thousands of Kilometers During the League Stage

The Indian Premier League (IPL) is not just about thrilling cricket action—it also involves intense travel schedules. With teams playing across multiple venues, players will spend a significant amount of time on the road. During the league stage alone, some teams will travel over 17,000 kilometers, making it a real test of endurance.

According to a report by Times of India, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) will cover the maximum distance, clocking over 17,000 kilometers. On the other hand, Delhi Capitals (DC) will have a relatively easier travel schedule, covering just 9,270 kilometers.

Players’ Take on the Hectic Travel Schedule

In the midst of this grueling travel, players have shared their thoughts on managing the demanding routine. Abhishek Porel, wicketkeeper-batter of Delhi Capitals, believes that it all boils down to mindset.

“It’s all mental. If you look at it negatively, it will feel exhausting. But if you enjoy it, it becomes part of your daily routine,” he said in an interview with TOI.

Karun Nair, Porel’s teammate, echoed a similar sentiment, highlighting the love for the game.

“We are doing what we love. Travel is part of the game at this level, and we shouldn’t complain about it,” Nair remarked.

Challenges of Frequent Travel

Playing in multiple cities means frequent flights, irregular schedules, and constant adjustments to different weather conditions.
